A vision for a distinctive integrated campus
The Warneford Park masterplan aims to transform this “sleeping beauty” into a distinctive modern campus that brings together, within its heritage buildings and landscaped setting:
- a major new mental health hospital
- a multidisciplinary research building
- a large‑scale centre for biotechs, start‑ups and pharmaceutical companies to develop fundamental research through clinical trials into new treatments, and
- the University of Oxford’s first college in Headington
These individual elements are designed to work together symbiotically, so that over time the output of the campus becomes greater than the sum of its parts.

Delivering care, research and education together
The goal is to deliver world‑class patient care alongside new research insights into some of the 21st century’s most prevalent and intractable illnesses.
These insights will be efficiently developed into new treatments, while also educating future generations of clinicians and medical scientists in an elegant and stimulating environment.
